Chicken Compost

Compost is a fantastic way to add organic matter and beneficial organisms to your soil! Our compost is unique. We collect food waste from a local grocery store on a weekly basis, to stop it from entering landfills. We then put it into our chicken run, where the chickens pick through the scraps for treats, turn the compost and add in extra nitrogen through their poop. We add in carbon from the coop bedding and turn the whole piles regularly.
